If you've checked your ticket and you are the only winner of a big jackpot, certainly appreciate having read this guide first steps and tips for new EuroMillions billionaires.

I. - Assimilate it

If you can not, pretend you do not feel well: Go to the bathroom and back out, repeat this operation three times and then, ask your boss for permission to go home claiming gastroenteritis. You can also claim for personal reasons but it will create doubts and especially many unanswered questions.

• Ideally, follow your normal routine of work and other obligations the first few days, especially if you've been lucky in a population with relatively few inhabitants where any abnormality in your behavior can generate rumors. Not the same thing an award in a town of one, two or three hundred inhabitants, where all citizens know each other, or to be in a capital like Madrid or Barcelona with a million inhabitants.

• Finally, note that EuroMillions prizes don't expire in three months. So you can keep the ticket in the safest place in your home for a few days or even a few weeks before to decide the next step. But don't lose it.

EuroMillions is taxed at 20% in Spain

In Spain, it seems that there will be no turning back and the awards of more than 2.500 euros of 'Loterías y Apuestas del Estado', including EuroMillions, will have to pay 20% in taxes by the part excedeed.

EuroMillions, lottery of certain European countries, is included in Spain through the LAE (Loterías y Apuestas del Estado). Previously, the LAE distributed the lottery prizes that were exempt from taxes as income tax, but since January 2013 it will be taxed at 20% all the prizes in excess of 2.500 euros.

For a prize of 3.000 euros, the tax would be 100 euros (500*20%).

For a prize of 400.000 euros, the tax would be 79.500 euros (397.500*20%)

For a prize of 25 millions, the tax would be 4.999.500 euros (24.997.500*20%)

This measure was announced by Finance Minister, Cristobal Montoro, in the context of measures to reduce the deficit.

Some experts say that this tax will decrease considerably the total collection of the lottery. In addition, also warn of the risk that would result in the collection down considering that 50% of the proceeds goes to the state coffers, so eventually would raise less tax than without it, although this will depend on reaction that citizens have when buying their weekly illusion from 2013.

Probabilitys of euromillions with 11 lucky stars

In ancient EuroMillions, the numbers 50 and 9 stars, the probability of achieving match all five numbers of 50 and  2 stars was one in 76,275,360.

But as you know, last year changed the rules EuroMillions and currently consists of 50 numbers and 11 stars, and introduced the 2 +0 prize that did not exist before.
